Kettell's Greenhouse history goes back almost 90 years when Edward Kettell, an Italian immigrant, built his first greenhouse. He grew plants for his own truck farm and supplied other farmers with vegetable plants. Now, third and fourth generations are commercial growers.
Among the plants grown are flowering annuals, perennials, vegetables, herb, hanging baskets and potted plants. The total production amounts to almost three and a half acres in the spring. Sales are open to the general public, garden centers and farmers. A fund-raising plan is also available to schools, scout troops, churches, sports teams and other organizations.
In addition, the business specializes in growing plug trays of seedlings for other greenhouses and farmers. Hardy mums are available for the Fall.
Kettell's is located along the Susquehanna river on route 92 in Falls, Pa. Please see our contact page for hours and to comment and for directions view the directions page for a map to the greenhouses.
